to my grandpa
I had the same dream again last night,
my grandpa in his uniform/appeared in the light, but
he's gone heaven back to 10 years time, and that was a bitter winter in 1995,
he seemed telling me to do this right, and
i m gonna speak for him in this rhyme.
time flies back to 1941,
my grandpa lived northern side mainland, just a few miles from the river bank,
a sunny afternoon in the spring season, the japs came looking for chinese militant and
they rounded up innocent/frightened peasants and
all they could see were sharp bayonets.
the japs thought could get them talk but
they were too scared to even speak a word,
and then the japs soliders received their order,
and they started to open fire,
yeah, listen it right, to the civilians they pulled the trigger,
no villiagers escaped that massacre, and their bodies were even burnt and dumpped into river.
my grandpa saw that happening but,
he's powerless to do anything,
he wiped tear away and packed his bag,
he's choiceless but/ got to find a way out fast
on his feet he's heading south,
eventually, he joined the army,
his sarge asked him:" who is ya enemy?" and
he recalled what happened in the villiage,
he shouted back:"it's the son of bitch japanese!"
he grew so fast from a boy to man, he couldn't forget that eternal pain,
he joined the battle in the frontline and,
his comrades thought he's outta his mind,
then, the troop encoutered japs in a small town,
the mortars fired shook the ground.
his sarge lead them charging/ bullets flying/ children cying/ soliders were shot and collapsing
their blood soaked the soil, and
they were fighting in the age of turmoil.
these people were said to fight for their country, but
at the back of they mind, they just want their families saved.
the battle was won, but losta fine men gone, even the sarge died in my grandpa's arm.
he was fortunate to have survived,
when the war ended august 1945,
now i m sitting back/relax
unaware of what happened in the past,
it's such a shame, and shame will last,
my grandpa had fought in the war, but he had never felt proud at all,
he just want our lives secured,
many times, we taking it for granted
and look back please, you won't believe how many lives have lost,
if you think this is funny, so be it,
then read it again, you will get what i meant.
